As part of the photographic workshop in Cuba our group did a daily “dawn patrol” walking the streets of Havana as it was turning light. On this particular morning our Cuban photographer headed us down to the Malecon, the large avenue that runs along the harbor. He said there was a storm coming up and there should be some good photo opportunities. Boy was he right!
The water was being blown into the wall along the harbor making for dramatic images – but it was cloudy and dull. Then this moment happened! The sun came up and the water exploded and once again, I was at the right place at the right time! It took nearly an hour to get this shot. Most of my colleagues had scattered but my patience paid off!
